March of Dimes Walk for Babies

Last weekend we went to Oak Harbor to participate in the "Walk for Babies" with Kali and Gabe. They had the biggest group with colorful yellow T-shirts. There must have been 30 of us. There were other groups but ours was the biggest. Kali works for a OBGYN (baby doctor) and Gabe is a peditrician.

We only walked 1 .5 miles which only took a half hour. The walk was beautiful though; along the beach in Oak Harbor. Kali had written "this way to walk for babies", and Gabe wrote one saying, "walkin' with my baby." I thought that was cute!

After the walk we all met back at the park to have hot dogs and potato chips, pop and visit. They did take a group picture but I don't have that to share. It was a lot of fun and the day was beautiful, just a little chilly on the water.

I did get a letter in the mail the other day saying that the whole group had raised $8,000 dollars. Kali's group raised $2,500 of that; quite an accomplishment!

The next major thing I am involved in is Cancer Relay for Life in Stanwood. A group from our ward is being organized. You walk all day and all night and people agree to sponsor you for how many miles you walk or give a set amount of money! I can walk to raise money or just walk in the survivor walk. I haven't decided yet what I'll do. So onwards and upwards.
