Family Times are GREAT!

I could not resist adding this picture of Rhees and Grandma Julie in Utah, hanging out on dah wagon.
Mother's Day we were invited to Dave Goodwin's parents place in Edmonds for dinner. Dave had cooked the dinner which was absolutely delicious. So we know who to call when we want a good meal. Dave can cook up a storm (he actually used a recipe of Michelles, but who cares; it was great).
Michelle and I posed for a picture together and then a photo of all of us for the memories.

It was quite a relaxed and pleasurable day!

Happy Birthday Bev

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEVERLEY!
We won't share with anyone actually how old you are! No one would believe it anyway, you act so young and have sooo much energy!

It is officially spring-time in the Northwest and I wanted Beverley to see and enjoy the beautiful flowers we enjoy here. I just planted these rhodedendrons this spring and they have gorgeous light pink blossoms. The tulips are in a pot and will be planted this fall in the ground to come up each spring.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL OF YOU MOTHERS AND MOTHER-TO BE!

My Gardening Exploits

On the left is a rhubarb plant I planted last fall. Recently I had some extra compost and I poured some around the base. A week later I went out to look at the plant and it's growth had exploded. So it will be just in time for me to make strawberry rhubarb pie in June when the strawberries ripen.
The picture below is my transplanted hubbard squash and beans and cucumbers. Those are all warm soil veggies so they can't be planted until after Mother's Day. Right now they get set outside on sunny days and brought in at night. This process in called "hardening off" so the plants get used to oustide weather.
This weekend is the Master Gardener's yearly Plant sale where I buy all my tomato plants, so I am excited to finally plant tomatoes.
My peas are now climbing up the trellis and the spinach, turnips, radishes, lettuce, swiss chard, green onions, cabbage broccoli and cauliflower are all doing well. They are cold weather vegetables and can be started in the ground in April because they thrive on cool nights and cool soil.

Grandma and Grandpa Time

We have had a fun time with our newest grandson, Parker. He is such and good baby. He eats, burps and sleeps and of course disposes of what he eats in his diapers. We have enjoyed being in Utah for a long weekend.
We will go back Monday evening to Seattle. It will be sad to leave our son and his wife and their sweet kids.

David's Graduation

These pictures are immediately following David's graduation from Weber State. He is holding Parker and Rachel is holding Rhees. Left to right is Brent, Dave Goodwin, Michelle Goodwin, Frank and I David and Rachel and kids.
Dave and Michelle brought Brent in their car and Frank and I flew down on Thursday. We have had a lot of fun playing with our grandsons. Frank and I were able to feed the baby who is almost two months old. His brother turns 3 this Friday.
Today on Saturday we will travel to SLC to visit an old roommate of Franks from BYU.
Tomorrow on Sunday we will go to church and see Parker blessed! We will probably do a new post tomorrow with blessing pictures.
