I'm Becoming a Techie

I'm so excited. We were invited over to Chelle and Dave
Goodwin's for Sunday night dinner. As usual it was great food and great company.

The exciting thing is that my daughter taught me how to manipulate my blogg page. So I have been having a lot of fun. So enjoy the pictures. It has been fun to go back in time. Just remember to enjoy your little ones and your husband 'cause the time goes by toooo fast!

Humanitarian Day

We have a humanitarian group that meets every Thursday from 11-2 in the afternoon. We sew quilts, receiving blankets, small cloth dolls, fleece blocks, school bags. The best part about the day is the pot luck. Last week we had twice baked potatoes, meatloaf, and chicken & dressing caserole. Everyone brought main dish stuff. It was delicious though. This week I brought apple crisp ( I had one in the freezer from last summer, what a time saver!) One of the sisters brought a salad and the other home-canned peaches (Yumm!) Cheese and crackers added to the mix.Two ladies brought homemade soups, one was turkey soup with from scratch noodles, and the other chicken vegetable. I told the sisters I felt like we were having a soup bar (take-off on potato bar!)

In all we had five sisters in attendance. We are even doing some missionary work. Wendy, a care-giver for one of the people at the senior center asked if she could join us since Thursdays she has a three hour break between clients. It so happens to be 11-2. She has come twice now and she owns a quilting, craft business so she knows what she is doing. We like that.

We all share in taking home some of the material so it is not all at one house. The room where we meet is a huge recreation room with tons of windows. So it is very light and bright.

I came home today and finished off two quilts to give to the Ward Humanitarian leader who was present at our group today. Instead of giving them to the 80 yr old sister who ties them I decided to machine quilt to get them out of the house. Sister Richards will box them up and take them to Mt.Vernon Bishop's Storehouse. They will be trucked to SLC.

So goes the joy of living and giving and serving. I love it!

Well, I thought I better get with it since it has been three months. In that time I have enrolled as a returning student at BYU majoring in General Studies. I am taking my first class, a how to study class. It is required for those having been out of school for a few years. Try 37 years since I've been in college.

Can't believe it's been so long. I am also writing my life story and ran onto some pictures from college days. My boyfriend (not Frank) was an amateur photographer.

Tah tah for now. See you later.
