Little Ben Goodwin

We were able to spend 3 1/2 hrs. with little Ben on Friday. His Mom had a conference on her day off. It was neat being able to see him when he first woke up and was happy.
This is Michelle's little boy who is turning 8 months in April. Where in the heck does the time go anyway!
Having a Dad that plays baseball, football, and basketball it's a small wonder that he has a bib that says #1 Sports Fan.

Proud Grandma Marchant!
Proud Grandpa Marchant
It is incredible to see a seven month old baby crawling all over.
Michelle will have no time to herself now! She'll have to watch that little tyke every single minute.

Me and my friends hangin' out.

I Love the Northwest!

On the ferry to Whidbey Island to see a grandson's basketball game in Coupeville, south of Oak Harbor.

Huge bridge over the Skagit River that connects Whidbey Island to the mainland.
I met an interesting one-legged character. He wasn't very talkative though!
Beautiful peek-a-boo view from Deception Pass Bridge.
Light house that is now a museum.
A wooden figure of a sea-faring captain.
Beautiful view of the Cascade Mountain range.

The Lites of Christmas

Kali and Ethan and Jennifer came over from Whidbey Island and wanted to go to the "Lites of Christmas. Ethan had Wacky Friday at school so he spray-painted his hair, wore different colored socks and a different shoe on each feet.
The Lites of Christmas in Stanwood was started by Warm Beach Christian Camps years ago. Originally, the lights were a fund raiser to fund their youth summer camps. It is nowvery famous through out the Puget Sound. People come from all around to enjoy over a billion lights. It was only 20 degrees outside so we had to bundle up to keep warm. Even at that it was really cold so we had a lot of hot chocolate to keep warm.

A Different Merry Christmas Poem

*T'was the month before Christmas*
When all through our land,**
Not a Christian was praying*
*Nor taking a stand.* *
See the PC Police had taken away,* *
The reason for Christmas - no one could say.*

*The children were told by their schools not to sing,*
*About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.*
*It might hurt people's feelings, the teachers would say*
*December 25th is just a ' Holiday '.* *
Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit*
*Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!*

*CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an I-pod*
*Something was changing, something quite odd! *
*Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa*
*In hopes to sell books by Franken & Obama.*
*As Targets were hanging their trees upside down* *
At Lowe's the word Christmas - was no where to be found.*

*At K-Mart and Staples and Penny's and Sears* *
You won't hear the word Christmas; it won't touch your ears.*
*Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-si-ty* *
Are words that were used to intimidate me.*
*Now Pelsoi, Reid, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen* *
On Boxer, on Biden, on Kerry, on Clinton !*

*At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter*
*To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter!* *
And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith* *
Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace*
The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded*
*The reason for the season, stopped before it started.*

*So as you celebrate 'Winter Break' under your 'Dream Tree'*
*Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me. * *
Choose your words carefully, choose what you say*
*Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS, not Happy Holiday !*
